Honoring Rex Johnston, Don Winston and Dr. Arthur C. Bartner
The line-up of honorees for this year’s Banquet is simply unprecedented. Last year, the TBAA was proud to honor Randy Johnson and Jay Jaffe, and more than 400 people supported this outstanding evening.
This November 12, we will recognize the tremendous accomplishments of Rex Johnston (Lifetime Achievement Award), Don Winston (Jay Jaffe Spirit of Troy Award), and Dr. Arthur C. Bartner (Dr. Arthur C. Bartner Trojan Service Award).
Rex Johnston was a star on the football and baseball fields at USC, and was the last athlete to play for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers at Forbes Field. A successful businessman for decades, Rex and his wife Sandy have dedicated themselves to supporting USC in so many ways. Just an outstanding couple of Trojans.
Don Winston was part of the USC Athletic Department for many years, with a special passion for Trojan Baseball. His efforts for Baseball made the difference for years and years.
Dr. Arthur C. Bartner has been the leader of the Trojan Marching Band since 1970, and has received dozens of awards and accolades during the past 47 years. If you have seen the band at the Coliseum, at the Hollywood Bowl, in movies, in South Bend and at scores of other venues, you can begin to understand Art’s contributions to USC. Simply off the charts.
